'The Act on the Protection of Dispatched Workers' was enacted on Jul. 1, 1998. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the law, a press briefing was organized by four irregular workers' organizations including the Korean Contingent Workers Center in front of the Government Complex-Seoul on Jul. 2.

Even though some of irregular workers were converted into the regular workers, due to the final ruling of the Supreme Court, but they are only a few. Most of them are working as the irregular workers. Having said that "what the Act protects the dispatched workers is a lie", workers demanded that "the Act should be abrogated right away."
