The new tripartite social dialogue body takes shape and it is likely to be named as the Economic, Social and Labor Commission, reorganized from the current Economic and Social Development Commission. The representation of the plenary committee which is the governing body will be further enhanced through the increased participation of vulnerable groups of youth, women, non-regular workers, and medium-sized enterprises, small enterprises and micro enterprises. The most important change that the new body brings about is to shift its foundation to the central role that labor and management will play.

When the top leaders representing labor, management and government in the meeting agreed to three contentious agendas, that is, the name of the new body, the expansion of participating actors and the nature of the social dialogue body, the reorganization of the tripartite social dialogue body is expected to speed up.

Top tripartite leaders who participated in the 2nd Labor-Management-Government Representatives Meeting were Kim Ju-young, president of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU), Kim Myung-hwan, president of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Sohn Kyung-shik, chairman of the Korea Employers Federation(KEF), Park Yong-maan, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kim Young-joo, Employment and Labor Minister, Moon Sung-hyun, chairman of the Economic and Social Development Commission(ESDC).
