Wage differential between male and female workers remained unaddressed. In 2016, female workers received 68.4% of male worker's wage, which is almost the same as 68.2% in 2013, 67.7% in 2014 and 68% in 2015.

Regarding job satisfaction as of 2017, 35.2% of wage workers in Korea replied they were content with current jobs, up 4.4% compared to the rate surveyed two years ago, while 30.5% satisfied with the working environment, 24.1% dissatisfied and the rest responded with 'moderate'( 48.4%)and 'don't know'(0.8%). 28% of the respondents were satisfied with working hours, whereas 26.8% expressed their dissatisfaction. Working hour satisfaction appeared higher in professional and managerial positions(38%) than in clerical positions(34.9%).

According to Statistics Korea, the economically active population began to fall from 2016, after reaching to the peak of 73.4%. It also made an estimation that the total population in Korea will decline from 2032.
