"Very few young people have an adequate level of understanding on the youth policies."
"I feel frustrated to hear of the hiring scandal in the banking industry."
"It is very difficult to have an access to job information, once finishing the college. It would be nice (for the graduates) to have a service that provides a job study room and job counseling."

These are some of voices expressed by young people who attended at a talk with Employment and Labor Minister Kim Young-joo held at the Seoul Youth Job Center on Feb. 21. The youth employment measures that young people requested were not new and grand ideas. What they requested was that the government effectively disseminates the information on the youth policies and roots out the employment irregularities that frustrate the young mind.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor(MOEL) arranged a meeting with young people to reflect their opinions before it announces the youth employment measures next month. Labor Minister Kim said, "The youth employment measures had been formulated 21 times over the past 10 years. As a result, it has been pointed out that even if the system was well established, the procedures to get the assistance were complicated and unrealistic." "Stalled implementation of the policies coupled with the absence of necessary measures in the past led to the stagnated job market situation. The measures that MOEL plans to announce this time will be designed to assist young people with practical tools to land a job," she added.

Many of the participants shared the necessity to strengthen the policy information dissemination activities, as "very few young people adequately understand the youth policies, despite the policies galore." There were also opinions that "Titles of youth policies are difficult to understand. The social network service(SNS) will be effective to disseminate the information."
