President Moon Jae-in reiterated the necessity of a higher minimum wage raise in a cabinet meeting presided over by himself on the morning of Jan. 16 in the Blue House, saying that "facing a situation of the widening income inequality, minimum wage is the least social floor to protect the worker's life worthy of human dignity and it will lead to the income-led growth through the increase of household income and the expansion of domestic demand."
