A French firm operates the Section 1 of Seoul Subway Line 9 which was constructed with the funds raised by private investments. In the meanwhile, the extended Section 2 and Section 3 of the Seoul Subway Line 9 were financed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
As the operation license for the Section 2 and Section 3 expires by August 31 this year, the Seoul Metropolitan Government on August 10 examined the eligibility of two bidders; the Seoul Metro Corporation, a local public corporation and the Seoul Metro Line 9 Corporation, a private French firm which currently operates the Section 1 of the Seoul Subway Line 9. The preferred bidder will be selected on August 11.
