Trade union of Hyundai Motor Corporation issued a partial strike guideline to union members on August 10 and 14 for two hours each by the first shift and the second shift workers to pressurize the management to reach a deal on the wage and collective agreement.

The Hyundai Motors Trade Union on August 7 held its Central Dispute Measures Committee in Ulsan City and decided the struggle plan including partial strikes, refusal of work during the weekend and no participation in education programs organized by the management until the negotiation is resolved.

Even though the trade union and management of Hyundai Motors began their collective bargaining starting April 20, they could not narrow down the gap over the contentious issues of wage hike rate, performance pay, a complete two-shift system and guaranty of total number of employees in preparation of the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution and development of the auto industry.
