Ssangyong Motor, Korea Exchange Bank, C&M and Hydis, Suncore are a few of the worst cases in Korea that companies fell prey to the foreign speculative capital which took away with enormously high profits for the short-term period through the corporate sell-off and left behind the harmful effects to the workers.

It is not easy for trade unions to respond to the predatory speculative capital, because trade unions do not have any measure in principle to block the corporate sell-off that may have been decided by either the managerial reasons or the decision of the capital. Even after the corporate disposal, trade unions still would have difficulty in getting an access to the critical managerial information.

A response strategy was suggested to mitigate the harmful effects of speculative capital's behavior of 'dine and run' that trade unions should strengthen the routine surveillance on the management through the direct participation in the management.
