As the performance-based pay system which had been imposed in the public sector during the former Park Geun-hye administration was finally scrapped, attention is now growing on the possibility concerning the restoration of government-labor trust and the resumption of social dialogue.

However, some experts say that this alone may not be good enough to reach the expected level of mutual trust. They request the new government to take additional measures such as the abolition of two controversial government guidelines on general dismissals and rules of employment and the steep raise of minimum wage, as President Moon made the pledges during his election campaign.
