"The shutdown of branches is an inescapable process to adapt ourselves to the digital changes that are already taking place". said City Bank Korea president Park Jin-hoi.
"The management does not pay heed to 600 dismissed workers and ordinary people in particular for the damages inflicted by the bank restructuring plan", said City Bank Korea Union Local leader Song Byung-joon.
The friction between management and union of City Bank Korea began in March this year over the paper presented under the title of 'next generation consumers' financial strategy'. According to the strategy paper, 101 out of 126 branches across the country will be shut down.
