Han Sang-gyun, president of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions(KCTU) was confirmed with the three-year imprisonment sentence by the Supreme Court which dismissed his appeal on May 31.

KCTU president Han Sang-gyun was sentenced to five-year imprisonment with a fine of 500,000 won(US$ 446) at the first trial which was reduced to three-year imprisonment with the same amount of fine at the second trial. He was detained in prison for the charges of leading the KCTU general strike and a massive rally in April and November 2015 respectively.
