President Moon Jae-in on May 25 ordered to raise the status of the National Human Rights Commission and its recommendation acceptance rate.

Attention is growing if the National Human Rights Commission will regain its reputable status which had been undermined by the previous two governments of Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye.

The reason behind the order of President Moon is that the acceptance rate of the ministries and government agencies for the recommendations made by the National Human Rights Commission is falling below 50%.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor is not free from such a criticism that it did not respect the recommendations in relation to the problems of basic labor rights violation and discrimination against the precarious workers.

During the period from 2001 to 2016, the government agencies showed 49.1% of acceptance rate on average for the improvement of policies and institutions recommended by the National Human Rights Commission, and the rate of partial acceptance that President Moon regards it "unaccepted" was 34.7%.
