Even though the Incheon International Airport Corporation has announced that it will switch 10,000 contingent workers to the regular status of employment within this year, it is pointed out that the cost saving and downsizing policy the IIAC had pursued up until early this month collides with the employment regularization policy and creates confusion in its implementation process. The trade union representing contingent workers at the airport demanded that the cost saving and downsizing policy should be scrapped immediately.

The IIAC has formed the "good job creation task force team", after President Moon Jae-in visited the Incheon International Airport on May 12 to open an era of zero contingent workers in the public sector. However, as the TF team does not communicate with contingent workers who are the main stakeholders, the trade union called on the IIAC for direct dialogue with workers' representatives for the establishment of better employment regularization process and the development of a model case for the nationwide dissemination.
