Boramae Medical Center is owned by Seoul Metropolitan Government but it has been commissioned to Seoul National University Hospital(SNUH) to manage the hospital since 1987.

In accordance with the renewed contract agreement with Seoul Metropolitan Government in December last year, SNUH plans to implement the division of personnel management of Boramae Medical Center from it. SNUH union local stood up against the plan for the concern that it might affect the accessibility of the public to the quality medical service, and called on Seoul Metropolitan Government to stop the split management policy that does not serve the interest of the public.
