Trade unions of eight affiliates of SK Group took an initiative in forming a group level labor council to better represent and coordinate the voices of the SK Group employees amid the looming employment insecurity and corporate restructuring process.
The SK Group Labor Council finally renamed as the SK Group Labor Management Council was registered as a corporate body for the purpose of encouraging the participation of the management to deal with the issues of employment security, recruitment, improved treatment of unorganized contingent workers, coordinated corporate social responsibility(CSR) activities, and occupational safety and health at the SK Group level.
The council was launched on February 20 with the participation of eight trade unions of SK Telecom, SK Innovation, SK Hynix(Icheon and Cheongju), SK Shipping, SK Chemicals, SKC(Ulsan) and SK Incheon Petrochem and its membership is open to other trade unions of SK Group affiliates.
