Even though an earlier-than-planned presidential election is almost certain to be decided soon and thus president hopefuls are busy with their preparations, the issues of collective labor relations are yet to be taken seriously by any of these presidential candidates.

The panel discussion organized by Rep. Lee Yong-deok is designed to serve the inclusion of the issues of collective labor relations into the labor policies of the new government, particularly for the protection of the unorganized vulnerable groups of workers including the contingent workers through the introduction of a new voice representation mechanism.

The panelists discussed the pros and cons of the new voice representation mechanism with the references to the systems of German 'works council' and Austrian 'chamber of labor'.
