The new leadership of Kim Joo-young, president and Lee Sung-kyung, general secretary of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU) on February 1 began their day-1 activities with paying homage to the deceased labor activists and visiting Han Sang-gyun, KCTU president who is currently serving a prison sentence for his union activity in Chuncheon Correctional Center.

In the inauguration ceremony held in the morning at the FKTU headquarters, FKTU president Kim Joo-young said in his speech that labor lies at the center of 'Reset Korea' in order to change the corrupt government in collusion with the conglomerates and to open a new era of hope for the protection of the underprivileged amid a looming economic crisis with more focused efforts to deal with the issues of contingent workers, unfair subcontract transactions and migrant workers.
