In the 300-member National Assembly, twelve of them are from the trade unions. Among twelve members, nine are from the Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU). Four belong to the ruling Saenuri Party, five to the major opposition Minjoo(Democratic) Party of Korea, one to the Justice Party and two independents.

The National Assembly will vote on the bill of President Park Geun-hye's impeachment at 3 p.m. on December 9(Friday). A quorum to decide the impeachment needs a two thirds majority, that is, 200 out of 300 votes.

All eight labor background lawmakers, five from the opposition Minjoo Party of Korea, one from the Justice Party and two independent lawmakers made it clear that they will vote for the impeachment. However, among four of the ruling Saenuri Party, only one favors for the impeachment and the other three remain unclear in their positions.
