1.9 million people nationwide took to the streets to call for the resignation of President Park Geun-hye who refuses to step down. The protest rally was the largest mass demonstration since the inception of Republic of Korea in 1948, and it was a 5th protest rally of its kind in 5 consecutive Saturdays to oust President Park Geun-hye from her post over the allegation of power abuse and corruption. The rally participants also demanded the arrest of criminal suspects of the Park Geun-hye scandal.
