Laid-off workers of the Hydis Technologies called on the government to resolve the "technology eat-and-run scam". After Taiwan's E Ink Holdings, the largest share holder of the Hydis Technologies, set up the business plan to commit to the patent technologies in Fringe Field Switching(FFS) in Korea, the production lines in Icheon were abruptly shut down.

An independent lawmaker Kim Jong-hoon said that as the Hydis Technologies was making annual profits of 100 billion won(US$ 85,7 million), the sudden shutdown of the production lines cannot happen in a normal country, but it can be suspected of the case of "technology eat-and-run scam". He called on the government to raise the issue to the Taiwanese Authority to resolve the issue.
